The Mid-Autumn Festival, or also known as the Full Moon Festival, has always been one of my all time favorite well, festivals. It always reminded me about my childhood, when my parents would buy me a star-shaped lantern and we’d go to my grandparents’ house to celebrate with my cousins… Good times! Well, this summer, I got to somehow revisit my childhood. We went to Hang Ma street, where there were plenty of stalls selling toys and decorations for the festival. During the week surrounding the festival, this street is always packed and it was rather difficult to park your vehicles because the car/bikes ‘keepers’ only agree to keep your vehicles for short periods of time. Toy merchants crowding the street, although there seems to be relatively less and less ‘traditional’ toys and a growing abundance of chinese made toys instead. It was such a joy coming back to this place. Last time that I was there for the Mid-Autumn Fest. market was about 6 years ago I think. Brings back so much childhood memories!
