I’ve recently been to the Diwali celebration in Trafalgar Square. Diwali, or also known as the “festival of lights” is a traditional festival widely celebrated in South Asian countries (India, Nepal, Sri Lanka to name a few). I came there expecting that there would be a lot of cultural things to experience. I was especially looking forward to possibly trying some new food. However, to much of my disappointment, apart from the performances on the grand stage, there wasn’t anything much. The event was heavily sponsored by a certain mobile phone company… the “special guest” was apparently some sort of chief marketing officer! Didn’t manage to take a lot of picture in the context of Diwali because it was really crowded and to be fair, there wasn’t much decoration. However, I still managed to get a couple of shots of Trafalgar Square. Also, I went down Waterloo Bridge for a couple of night shots (All pictures were taken with my Lumix LX5)
