I met up with a friend from Uni this past week and as we wandered around Soho figuring out where to eat, we opted for this Peruvian-Japanese fusion restaurant called Chotto Matte. Combining Peruvian and Japanese cuisine seems to be a no-brainer, with raw fish being the star in both country’s specialities.
Nevertheless, the sushi was a bit underwhelming… The nigiri had a very disproportionate balance and was incredibly spicy from the tantalising amount of wasabi in each pieces. The chicken was OK but it came out rather cold. The shrimp spring roll and desert were good but nothing exceptional. Unfortunately, I was left a bit disappointed by the quality of the food. However, I quite like the ambiance and decor of the place and would consider returning at a later time for drinks to see what the hype is really about.
