The lovely folks at KitchenAid UK invited me over to their swanky showroom on 98 Wigmore Street at the beginning of this month for a very special Valentine’s Day treat. There, I got the chance to bake alongside the talented Emma Power, who taught us how to master the art of icing red velvet cupcakes – just like how it’s done at Hummingbird Bakery.
After a few hours of sprinkling heart-shaped confetti onto our biscuit dough and figuring out the difference between caster sugar and icing sugar, we left the session with pockets full of sweet treats to spoil our loved ones. I’m proud to say that I managed to bake a dozen of red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting, a few handfuls of heart shaped biscuits, alongside a couple of sweet skewers drizzled in chocolate ganache, without burning anything along the way. Of course, this wouldn’t materialise without a lot of help from Emma and the super impressive KitchenAid tools and appliances.
Anyhow, hope you all had a sugary sweet Valentine’s day this year!
PS: I have a few more exciting things coming up in the next months and will be looking forward to blogging again. Who said that a 2 years gap since my last posts was too long of a break??
