Being able to escape the busy metropolitan life and unwind in a rural environment feels pretty amazing. These past couple of days, I’ve been visiting a friend’s house in northern England. Everything here is so different, so peaceful… so green! The scenery here is absolutely breathtaking and I wouldn’t mind staying here for a bit longer. Yet, I’m probably still a city girl at heart. I miss the things that are pretty much considered essential to the big city life such as public transport, easy access to goods and services or simply my mobile signals. On a side note, I recently got this sweatshirt with bear ears from the ASOS sales… doesn’t it look funny? I don’t usually like to wear sweatshirts or hoodies but this was just too cute to pass.

Lately, I have been a little caught up with work so I haven’t had a lot of time to check out the summer sales. However I still managed to buy a couple of items that have been on my wishlist for a long time. As the weather has been slowly ameliorating, I gave myself an excuse to buy a sun hat and a new pair of sunglasses. I didn’t really need a new pair of sunglasses but when I saw them in the store, I knew that they had to be in my life! The peach and green versions of it are actually on sale on the UO website for only £5… such a steal! I guess the quality isn’t great but I often lose my sunglasses so this seems like a sound investment. Also, I finally got hold of the ASOS spike collar necklace, which took me a while because they were initially sold out on their website…

It’s already mid June and I still find myself wearing winter clothing… This time last year, I was wandering around in my floral jumpsuit, enjoying the amazing summer weather. If this doesn’t improve soon, I better start migrating to somewhere more exotic, at least for the summer, so that the stack of shorts that I have piled up in preparation for summer wouldn’t go to waste!
