I don’t buy a lot of T-shirts but when I do, I make sure that it’s got a giant cat’s face with enormous blue eyes printed in the front. Well, no, I must admit that I do buy a lot of t-shirts but this one is definitely one of the crazier ones that I have. I’m not exactly a ‘cat person’ but I can’t help but LOVE this t-shirt. The bright blue eyes are so alluring and creepy at the same time. I’ve been going for more active, 90s-inspired looks these days so I paired it with this oversized vintage Levi’s denim jacket and this faux-leather baseball cap from H&M. I completed the look with my beloved crochet shorts (a now recurring item on this blog) and my ALDO Hardney Wedges to add a girly twist to the look and balance out the tomboy vibe.

Excuse the boring background – I’ve been feeling lazy about carrying my DSLR around on top of my stacks of revision books so that’s why you might have to familiarise yourself with this one for a while. On the bright side, it will probably be easier for me to push for more updates this way since I can just take a couple of shots before I leave the house everyday and voilà! Technicalities aside, hope everyone’s having a good week.

Growing up in the 1990s, I used to just sit in front of the television with my brother, watching back to back episodes of Friends religiously until we’d get told off by our parents. Friends is and remains the only show that I could ever watch over and over again without getting bored. I think I have watched the entire 10 seasons so many times that I can now recount all the details of an episode after watching the first couple minutes of it. And because of that, I think I have grown to attach a certain stigma to leather trousers. Every time I’d see a pair of leather trousers, they would remind me about that episode where Ross got himself a pair, gets subsequently made fun of by all his friends and then ends up getting caught in an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction during his date (involving baby powder and too much sweating… remember that?). Ever since, my brain has somehow managed to convince me that leather pants was synonymous to misfortune and poor taste in clothing… I blame you television! I guess it’s about time that I overcome my fear. So last week, I got myself a pair of (imitation) leather shorts from H&M. Well, they’re not full length trousers nor are they real leather but you know… baby steps!

It’s already mid June and I still find myself wearing winter clothing… This time last year, I was wandering around in my floral jumpsuit, enjoying the amazing summer weather. If this doesn’t improve soon, I better start migrating to somewhere more exotic, at least for the summer, so that the stack of shorts that I have piled up in preparation for summer wouldn’t go to waste!
